Our Patient Code of Conduct helps ensure we achieve this goal.
Our policy states: All persons (including staff, patients, vendors, and guests) at any Wichita Urology, Wichita Urology Surgery Center and Advanced Cancer Therapies locations are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and courteous manner. Disruptive behavior is prohibited and will be addressed in a manner that protects the safety and dignity of all involved.
Words or actions that are disrespectful, racist, discriminatory, hostile or harassing are not welcome at Wichita Urology. Examples of these include:
- Violence, threatening behavior, or abusive language. We have a zero-tolerance policy.
- Offensive comments or gestures about age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, ability, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, marital status, or other personal traits.
- Lewd/sexual behavior or language.
- Alcohol or illegal drugs.
- Damaging or theft of any items or equipment.
- Disrupting other patients’ care or violating their privacy.
As we take HIPAA privacy and security seriously, all patients and visitors must obtain the consent of everyone involved for any photographing or video/audio recording within all Wichita Urology locations.
Our policy includes specific definitions of what constitutes intentionally disruptive or abusive behavior, as well as the procedure that will be followed once a report is made of a disruptive staff member, patient, vendor or guest.
Patients may be asked to leave if any of the above guidelines are violated and may not be able to return to our practice. In cases of non-compliance, patients will have an opportunity to explain their perspective, which will be considered prior to any decisions regarding future care at Wichita Urology.
